hello, i need help with two discussion and have to reply to them. Discussion 1: read the report on the HRM Policies and Practices in the US below and explain to the class how that report is going to help you in writing your position papers. Response of my classmates: The article “HRM Policies and Practices in the US” written by Elaine Farndale, Maja Vidovic, and Elizabeth Rockey is a detailed report of over 693 responses on Human Resource Management policies and practices around the United States in 2014/2015. There are three qualified Human Resource Management data sources in this report: the Center for International Human Resource Studies (CIHRS), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the alumni of the School of Labor and Employment Relations at Penn State University (Farndale et al., 2015). I will use the report as a foundation for my position paper. My first position paper topic will be discussing “Diversity & Inclusion: how can it be a strategy for success in your organization.” In the report, the authors discussed briefly “the percentage of organizations implementing Diversity and Inclusion programs and what stage they are implementing those programs” (Farndale et al., 2015). I plan to use the brief information I have learned from this report to aid the research I do for my position paper. Figure 3.6 in the report would be helpful to me when writing my position paper because it gives me questions to think about when doing my research. For example, why does it seem like the majority of the Diversity and Inclusion programs deal with recruitment? Is this an effective tactic by organizations to bring in new minority hires? What group of minorities are struggling with the new policies and practices in place? What policies are in place for organizations to follow, and how have they evolved since 2014/15? The HRM Poliies and Practices in the US research document was very informative with not only information that supported a isue within there company but also statistical data. In this document Hrm reports the strategic planniing used over time in order to increase the companies productivity and eliminate departments and resources that are not being used proactively. When reading this report there were to main focus points the productivity between to what’s beneficial? and who’s more beneficial? In this case what department brings more use to the companies strategic planning with issues , project, and etc. This report can be very resourceful for me when writing my proposition papers because it gives a clear format to adressing a problem or issue abd finding the solution.The article showed me that utilizing all aspects of research is beneficial when propsing a postion to a issue such as surveys, graphs , and comparisons between both opposing arguments. If i had to take one important tool used in this report it would be the format planning. I believe the article flowed perfectecly by fist providing background information, introducing the issue, providing solution with not only background knowledge but also facts and data.
