you will be exploring the topics of earthquakes (lab 9), structural geology (lab 10), and geologic dating (lab 11). Lab 9 does not have as many questions as previous labs which means that each question is worth a higher percentage of the lab than you may be used to. Even though there are less questions than usual, One other thing to note is that there are a couple of graphs that you will need to utilize to answer some questions but their axes are logarithmic instead of linear. I give an explanation in one of the videos on how to read those graphs but be careful because one can get tripped up easily if you are not careful on those graphs. If you are having trouble figuring out how to read these graphs, For lab 10, the lab chapter and worksheet are one document which is 20 pages long. Don’t freak out as there are a lot of figures in this lab so it is not as much work as you may be thinking it is. That being said, You do not need to print out this lab either as I provide the necessary measurements to you for exercise 2 (see the video on exercise 2) and anything that asks you to draw an attitude or map out some geology, you can just do on a piece of scratch paper. One tool that you will need for this lab though is a protractor which if you do not already own one, you can pick up at CVS for a couple of dollars. Lab 11 is about geologic dating which is mainly about the sequence in which geologic rocks formed and geologic events happened. I have posted videos as usual along with a lab chapter to explain the concepts in this lab. There is a separate lab worksheet that you will work on and you will submit your answers via the Blackboard tes t posted. I have also posted the three lab exercises, each filled out with a lower-case letter sequence as input guides. When you have filled out each of those exercises with your numeric sequences, convert your numeric sequence to the lower-case letter sequence for that exercise and see which answer that corresponds with on the Blackboard .
