This discussion is the third step of the EAA project. You will share about the completion of your activity. You will reflect with your peers about your activity, as well as help them reflect about their own completed activities.

Outcomes

2. Explain the sexual orientation continuum and varying identities.
3. Summarize the gay rights movement.
4. Compare and contrast the various forms of contraceptives including their effectiveness, side effects, advantages/disadvantages, reversibility of each, and how attitudes influence their use.
5. Explain conception, pregnancy, and childbirth.
6. Examine infertility and assisted reproductive technologies.

Instructions

For this discussion, you will summarize how your activity went! Share which option you decided on and why. Module 3: Project Assignment EAA Outline

Following your activity experience, you will begin to research the topic of that experience in this assignment. Outline the different biopsychosocial elements of your topic in preparation for the analysis paper. You will also identify at least two additional academic sources related to the subject of your activity, one of which must be a peer-reviewed journal article, and add them to your initial references page from Step 2: EAA Proposal. Include your now updated references page (with six total academic sources, at least three of which need to be peer-reviewed journal articles). See below for expected items to complete in the EAA Outline, and note this is a full sentence outline in which you will draft some initial ideas for your paper:

Introduction – Introduce the topic and name the biological, psychological, and social components that are being explored. Also, draft your thesis statement.
Biological Component – Outline what elements of the biological component will be explored in the paper. For example, are there physical health or safety concerns to be mindful of related to the activity? Are there health benefits to be gained from this topic?
Psychological Component – Outline what elements of the psychological component will be explored in the paper. For example, are there potential psychological benefits, risks, or considerations that should be made in relation to the topic?

Sociological Component – Outline what elements of the sociological component will be explored in the paper. For example, are there potential sociological considerations that should be made in relation to the topic such as legal issues, community aspects, age restrictions, etc.?

Conclusion – Outline how might you synthesize your analysis of the topic? Are there recommendations that can be made? Further research that may be needed? Etc.
References Page – Provide a complete APA format (7th ed.) references page with the six required sources, three of which must be peer-reviewed journal articles.

This discussion is the fifth step of the EAA project. You will draft your EAA final paper and post to the EAA Discussion for feedback from your peers. Then, you will provide feedback to your peers on their EAA drafts.

Outcomes

1. Describe sexual development throughout the lifespan, including different behaviors and needs.
2. Identify different styles of relationships.
3. Summarize dating, marriage, and divorce trends.
4. Analyze different physiological and psychological sexual difficulties and treatment options.
5. Differentiate between the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and psychological aspects of STIs.
6. Explain the psychological aspects of STIs.

Instructions

This discussion is the final step of the EAA project. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your selected activity and research, as well as the course overall.

Outcomes

1. Differentiate between atypical and paraphilic sexual behavior.
2. Explain the development of paraphilic behavior.
3. Explain rape and rape culture.
4. Identify the different components of rape and sexual assault, including causes, prevention, treatment, and consequences.
5. Describe child sexual abuse including the perpetrators, prevention, prevalence, and effects.
6. Analyze the different types of pornography, its use, and its psychological benefits and drawbacks.
7. Examine sex work from a legal, social, and psychological perspective.

Instructions

In this assignment, you will reflect on your EAA and the course overall. First, did your perspectives or opinions change related to your own and your peers’ activities? Are there additional activities you want to pursue now? Are there additional questions that have been raised for you about the world of sexuality? Second, what has been most impactful for you in the course? What information surprised you? How will you use the information you learned in this course moving forward in your life, education, and/or career? Your discussion post should be a minimum of 250 words.

Module 5: Project Assignment EAA Final Paper

Instructions

In this assignment, you will write a polished analysis of the biological, psychological, and social components of the topic from your experiential activity. You will use information and evidence from the prior steps, your actual experience of the topic, and the required six sources (three of which must be peer-reviewed journal articles) to complete the following:
1. A 6 page analysis paper of the activity, not including the title or references page. The EAA Final Paper should utilize relevant information and sources from the earlier steps, and be organized like your outline with use of the same headings (introduction, biological component, psychological component, social component, and conclusion). You will expand from the outlined ideas to a full and strong thesis, as well as fully developed topics within each component. Typically, each component will have 2-3 topics explored.
2. Your actual experience of the topic should be incorporated as appropriate for additional evidence, but do not use first person (I, me, my, etc.). Observations from the experience can be great evidence to add to the analysis of your activity. However, part of learning APA writing format is avoiding the use of first person and writing in a more formal, academic tone. This can be especially important when studying an often personal topic like sexuality. An example of the difference between informal first person and formal APA could be:
· The audience at the burlesque show was more than 50% female, which contradicts stereotypes of what gender(s) might want to see women perform the art of striptease.

Versus
· I was surprised that the audience was more than 50% female at the burlesque show I went to.
3. An examination, explanation, and interpretation of the biological, psychological, and social aspects of your topic. Support these interpretations with evidence from your academic sources and experiential observations. Draw conclusions about your topic and support these conclusions with evidence from your academic sources. The conclusions you draw should demonstrate deep, critical analysis about the activity’s impact on the individual and/or society, and have evidence from your academic sources to support them. You may choose to write an argumentative, informative, or compare/contrast style paper. Most students choose either argumentative or informative for this assignment.
· Remember to incorporate specific examples from your experience. The examples from your experience should be appropriately connected to your academic research.
4. Include an accurate References page, formatted using 7th edition APA format, with at least the six required sources, three of which must be peer-reviewed journal articles.
