Policing

Write a 5-page paper on one of the following two topics:
Policing in America is under fire.  The issue of racial injustice in the form of police brutality within the Black and other marginalized communities has reached a tipping point.   Also, the Police Unions have come under fire for protecting “bad cops” (the blue wall of silence).  If you were hired by  management or the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) to be the “fixer,” what would your recommendations be?
For Management:  What would your top 3 recommendations be in response to  the issue of police brutality with regards to policing Black Americans and other marginalized groups?  How would you implement your recommendations?
OR  
For the Union: What would your top 3 recommendations be to address the alleged “blue wall of silence?”  How would you implement your recommendations? 
Pick one of the two questions above to write your paper on ( Not Both).  
Make your recommendations based on facts you have researched – use at least 3 references.  Also tie your recommendations to what you have learned so far in class about management and unions and how they work. 
The Paper should be entitled “ Enforcement Management at a Critical Junction – The Way Ahead”  or ” National Association of Police Organizations at a Critcal Junction  –  The Way Ahead.”
The Cover and Works Cited pages are included in the five page count. The paper must be double-spaced, 12 pt. font, 1 inch margins.
