In this writing/speaking assessment, we will focus on developing a strong and clear voice, using narrative techniques and to inform and persuade a specific audience.

I am not providing a specific prompt because I would like you to feel free to select an approach, an angle that is of particular interest to you. That being said, keep in mind that you need to focus on a specific topic for the piece a sub topic that is clearly defined. I included a copy of my current essay but I essentially explained what the situation was without taking any stance on the topic. You’re free to ignore this completely or work it into the essay.

Inside the U.S. military cargo plane, hundreds crammed into what little space was left. These people are the surviving refugees who were forced to leave their country after the violent and dangerously oppressive regime, named the Taliban, took power over Afghanistan.
