Assessment 2

Assessment title Group presentation and group report of strategic
issues

Purpose, description and
topics covered

Purpose: The purpose of this assessment is to develop
the learner’s skill to be able to distinguish between the
various forces that affect a firm’s decision to activate
corporate and business level strategies. It will use this
knowledge to formulate a range of corporate, business
level or functional strategies to address basic business
challenges by applying two strategic analysis frameworks.

The assessment has two parts:

(1) PowerPoint slides (submitted by the group leader
with all member first names, surnames, student
numbers, unit code and assessment number) and
a YouTube video recording done by each
individual member of the group. There need to be
10 slides (these summarise the report in item 2
below)

(2) A report (1500 words, 10 references) submitted by
the group leader with all member first names,
surnames, student numbers, unit code and
assessment number.

You will need to use a minimum of 10 references of
which at least half must be academic.

Your group leader needs to submit both items above on
behalf of the team (only one student is to submit the
work).

Description: This is a 10-slide PowerPoint set and a
YouTube recording for each member of the group of
1-3 minutes (per person). The group size is 3-4
students.

Topics to be covered: Knowledge and skills from weeks 4
to 8 with a focus on distinguishing between the various
forces that affect a firm’s decision to activate corporate
and business level strategies and the formulation of
solutions to address basic business challenges.

The assessment also provides learners with the ability to
engage in in-depth learning and analysis using theoretical
models and to present findings.

The assessment will develop your reasoning skills and
apply them to the assessment questions.
