Construction Joint Venture Approach

DescriptionThis report needs to be based on the joint venture between Willmott Dixon and VolkerFitzpatrick. Please read all of the attatched documents throughaly so that you can fully meet the criterial for the assignment.

Wilmott Dixon and the company you selected in CW1 have decided that a joint venture is to be developed for the project in assignment one. You have been head hunted to be the project director. You are self-employed but will be paid equally by the two companies provided that you manage and act without a bias of allegiance to either of the companies. The project estimated duration is three years, and the number of staff on site is circa thirty. This is a combination of project managers, construction managers, quantity surveyors, engineers, administration staff and trainees. The staff will be transferred from both Wilmott Dixon and the other company selected. You are to employ a maximum of three people from outside of the two companies for the three year project period, with the option of joining one of the two companies, the roles of these three will be dependent upon you.

Tasks

Provide a project document to include the following:

Task 1 Governance and Ethics policy (20%) MK

Task 2 Communication strategy (20%) MK

Task 3 Critically review the challenges and barriers the new company might face while implementing new initiatives in future (10%) MK

Task 4 Project assessment criteria using the Tesco wheel approach but not copying it. (20%) GD

Task 5 Employment process and appraisal system for employing those form the two companies and appraisal approach. (20%) GD

Task 6 Identify the management style and culture for the project (Deal & Kennedy). (10%) GD
