How the solution affected the stakeholders

Analyze the problems of the task force through the perspective of each discipline of the participants (Chapter 7). You may write, for example,
IT specialists tend to view the world as problems to be solved through the application of logical methods and steps. They have an analytical perspective. Bill, Kelly, and Mindy each saw the problem through their disciplinary viewpoint. Bills response to Addie, for example, demonstrated a logical grasp of the situation and an analytic analysis of a solution.
What are the strengths and weaknesses of his perspective? You could then go on to explain further why these group members had trouble convincing the group to adopt their approach. Perform this exercise for each discipline represented by each member of the task force.
Assignment #2
Examine the effect of conflicts. Was there a power struggle within the group? Did you sense tension between Bill and some of the other group members? Did the status or rank of the participants affect the interaction of the group and their inability to reach a decision? Who had the most credibility and status among the group members? Explain. Members of the task force ranged in rank from Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to student assistant. Jenny had the most rank, but did she have the most credibility? Did she use her status to try and minimize group conflicts? Was Jenny a good leader? Did she show leadership traits? Explain.
How did gated communities of the mind and habitus play a role? Did the IT group members or others exhibit gated communities of the mind? Who showed habitus in group interactions? Why did Addie and the faculty unite against the other group members?
What happened when group members did not voluntarily leave their own intellectual comfort zones to participate in the conversations? Did group members exhibit an unwillingness to leave their comfort zones at anytime during the series of meetings?
Did age or gender differences, ethnic/national/racial factors play a role? Who was affected, how were they affected, and why were they affected? Did Mindys age or status or Juans ethnic group affect how other group members treated them, for example? Did other group members have attributes that may have affected how other group members regarded them? What other evidence did you detect for this type of conflict between other members?
