Reflection Paper (Midterm Exam) Using the principles and theory of small group dynamics, describe the experience of working in your group.
What was the dynamic of the group?
The group consist of 4 group members in total. I was the person that was placed to reach out to everyone since the beginning so it felt as I placed at the lead. One of the group members said she believes that I should be placed at the leader to organize and get everyone together to start this project.
What went well? Finally, Everyone later on the week agreed what they wanted to do and did not want to change. We chose to do Rome.
The Group Assignment Format #3 (Place). I picked to do the PowerPoint Presentation that includes important information about the place.

What could have gone better? Better communication and acknowledgement in the assignment.
What were the causes of this dynamic? We are still waiting on 1 group member to communicate back with us to see which of the last two assignments will she choose so we can do the 5th assignment together collectively.
What was your role in the group? I reached out to everyone through blackboard email the first day that the assignment was posted. 1 person responded 2 days later then the 2nd person 3 days later. Then the 3rd person responded until the 4th day but still hasnt let anyone know what assignment of the last 2 that was left. I created a Whatsapp messaging group for our group so we can go back and forth with ideas and if anyone needed help. So I was automatically placed as the Leader and communicating with everyone and trying. I get it we all work full-time and in school and have family and other obligations. I would at least like a acknowledgement of what someone is doing so if I have to pick up the slick to finish a project I can.
Could you have done anything differently? I sent out emails and messaging for everyone to feel comfortable and we can work as a group and to see if we all can work as a time and I offered my help and assistance to everyone in the group- it feels like pulling teeth out for a response or acknowledgement. I wouldve picked my own group members that are willing to work and work at a team.
What did you learn as a result of this experience? My learning experience is that not everyone is like you and understand the value of someones time. At the end of the day I am very organized and great on time management skills. Always making sure everything gets done. Maybe I am a over achiever and would everyone to apply the same work ethic especially in a group setting to pull their own weight or to ask for help. Sometimes the person that gets pushed into the leader role might be stuck doing all the work and on everyones elses back to complete their work or to communicate.
The role that I always get ask to do is the leader / organizer. I have always been a team player and very organized and paid very close attention to details. I believe in a small group project, it’s easier to have a better communication level with others to work collectively and share a common purpose or goal, who feel connected to each other, and who coordinated their behavior. I think everyone in any group should share the work equally and not just leave the work for the rest of the group. I think that the role that fits myself is the creative director role. I have a lot of creative energy, every team needs someone who can think out-of-the-box and introduce new, unique concepts. It prevents stunted development and keeps the team constantly working for enhancement. If we get stuck or something does not work for the team, I can shift the focus on another approach.
How would you rate your experience with the small group presentation project?
I would rate the group as a whole satisfactory because I can speak for myself and I know my work ethic and I communicate well, and I am organized and make sure everything gets done. 1 other individual at least responds and says what she is doing but that is about it. Everyone needs to work on better communication skills and at least confirm and acknowledge someones message. I want a good grade on my assignment and feel that end of the day I think everyone is going to do their job.
