Abstract

Leaders are not known when the organization is working smoothly, real leadership is established during a crisis. There is no way a leader or an organization can prepare for a crisis, this is because each crisis is unique. Leaders find themselves in a situation that may make an organization stronger and successful or destroy it completely. A business crisis occurs when an unanticipated problems threaten the performance and stability of an organization.

• Financial Crisis: This happened when an organization has lost its assets and value and is unable to settle debts.
• Personnel Crisis: This occurs when an employee or anyone related to the organization is involved in an ethical issue.
• Organizational Crisis: This happens when the company itself had wronged its customers.
• Technological Crisis: Organization rely of tech, when technology fails it causes a technological crisis
• Natural Crisis: An example of natural crisis is an earthquake

1. How to be an effective leader in time of crises

• Confidence: This is the first and most significant thing that a leader must have in time of crisis in order to save the organization and help it make through the crisis
• Adaptable and Decisive: In time of a crisis leaders are forced to make quick and hard decision. Control the chaos: Leaders are also looked upon to be in control during chaos.
• Exercise caution: Time of crises in the justification that a leader has to risk it all except no other option out of crisis.
• Stay positive: As a leader staying positive is as important as making organization`s decisions in times of crisis.
