Project Proposal Has social media made people more or less connected? My captivation to research on this topic is based on how widely social media is accepted and spread. It has also created a principal idea that connects people from various backgrounds across the globe despite their origin, ethnicity, or race. The invention of Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and many more has acted as core networking platforms that bridges gaps across nations, and oceans to unite friends mostly created over these platforms. However, the same media is breaking actual relationships since many people spend more time on phones and computers, reducing their ability to connect with real friends and relatives. Through this research, I wish to identify basic reasons that makes people connect more with online friends rather than actual friends; how can a person balance social media and actual life. This topic interests me because I have lost many friends due to social media, and I would love to create a balance between real life and social media life not only for myself but for millions of people who have the same concerns as I have.
