TOPIC:  With a use of technology, human resources have streamlined many of the processes and access to information for employees through the self-service portals.  Prior to much of the advanced technology organizations and employees are experiencing today, they needed to go to the human resources office to complete paperwork or seek information.  As you have learned, self-service technology has eliminated many challenges experienced in the past.  For your assignment on self-service technology, you will include the following points:

1.  Describe the factors/key elements found in self-service technology.

2.  What is important to understand about self-service technology for both the human resources manager and the employees.

3.  What are the positives and negatives – for both human resources/the organization and the employees.  Make sure you cite some examples.

4.  What are some of the considerations that would be important when making decisions about self-service technology to include tools and providers.

The following will help guide you through the mechanics of the paper:

–  APA format.  To include Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, References

– The “body” of the paper will be no less than 3 pages in length.

–  The title page, abstract, references and any attachments are not included in the page count.

– The Introduction will provide an opportunity to capture the reader’s attention with a “hook.”  It also indicates what the paper will be about and how you will approach the topic.

– Your conclusion will summarize the main idea, ties the main points together neatly for the reader, and ends with a sense of finality. Avoid introducing new ideas in the conclusion.

– Include at least three (3) supporting references or sources (NOT Wikipedia, unknown, or anonymous sources).
